Recap of July 2026

(July 22) We exited Cancer season and entered Leo season; we switched from a preoccupation on our internal emotional world or family life to a focus on our own personal joy, creativity, and subjective expressions.

(July 23) Mercury came out of retrograde and we were no longer plagued by miscommunication, technical difficulties, or equipment just out right failing on us throughout most of July. We were longer fixated on the past/past people that may have cropped up (for the time being at least). Our mind became better refined after a process of reviewal, revisiting the past, and fixing up all the holes that we may have missed.

(July 26) The lunar nodes entered the Leo/Aquarius axis, signifying a significant change in direction for the next 1.5 years .

(July 29) We ended July on a high climatic point. The full moon in Aquarius illumined and exposed a truth, bringing it to the surface. The full moon also shed a little light on our change in direction and potentially triggered deep and transformative experiences with the influence of Pluto’s intensity cranking up the volume. To top it all off, during that full moon, we had a Jupiter cazimi with the Sun that brought a sense of positivity, luck, abundance, and expansiveness to this auspicious astrological event. Since the end of June, there has been an expansion to our sense of joy, creativity, and purpose; during this cazimi/full moon this expansive part of our life becomes renewed, revitalized, and potentially given form.

The Aquarius full moon may have revealed to us how we can bring our joy, purposeful expression, or creative impulses into the social sphere of other people. Or how we can link up with those of like mind and share our joy within groups, friends, and networks. But very generally, with any full moon we may see a dynamic or situation come to a “full” culmination point where a subsequent ending may ensue. The path is illumined, deep truths are brought to light, and the way forward is revealed.

August 2026

Starting in the beginning of August, we are coming down from that emotionally heightened full moon, and are in a period of introspection and integration of what was learned. This is almost a “quiet before the storm” since around the corner we have a new moon, solar eclipse and a full moon, lunar eclipse cropping up this month, signifying noteworthy events, major realizations, and significant moments bound to occur. Before we get to those eclipses, we have some shifts and changes to our personal planets occurring.

The Shifts

Venus

Venus leaves the sign of Virgo and enters Libra on August 6th. This signifies a shift from critique of ourself and others to the pursuit of harmony and balance. Our values and relationships went under intense critical review and scrutiny. There may be some lingering relationship tension that was heightened at the end of July and that we are now seeking to harmonize with Venus now being in Libra. We may have even had tense conversations, or impulses to separate from others during that full moon, but now- here comes the balancing act. This month we may act in accordance with our ever-changing needs for relationship vs. alone time and seek to balance the two as much as we can.

Mercury

Mercury enters the sign of Leo on August 9^th– signifying a mind that is now focused on our own subjectivity, creative impulses, and joyful pleasures. The mind acts with more dynamism and boldness, and lasts for a couple of weeks until Mercury enters Virgo on August 25^th. The mind gets sharper during Virgo season; we undergo a process of refinement and adjustment of our talents, and also fine tune our lists, schedules, or items that pertain to the practical day-to-day.

Mars

On August 11^th Mars shifts out of Gemini, and enters the sign of Cancer. We step out of verbal confrontation and frenetic mental energy, slow the pace a bit, and turn our energy inward. There may be a desire to protect one’s “safe place” with good defenses, or the desire to erect fierce emotional boundaries (especially if we are trying to balance “me time” with “we time”). Very generally though, Mars in Cancer also signifies the potential for in anger or passion welling up from within us, either giving us the internal motivation to chase our desires, or stirs up emotional frustration at the roadblocks we may encounter.

Total Solar Eclipse in Leo August 12^th // Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces August 28^th

For both eclipses (solar and lunar), big events, changes in direction, or emotionally poignant experiences are suggested here- with potential lasting effects that may extend into the next year. With the solar eclipse a gateway is open to seize new opportunities, and to plant new seeds. With the solar eclipse on the lunar south node, this suggests we may be revisiting and releasing the past, and potentially taking old methods or forms and making them “new” again. In the sign of Leo, perhaps this pertains to how we express ourself and how we self-actualize our own individual purpose. The lunar eclipse this month may contain significant endings and realizations, however, with it happening on the lunar north node, these endings may illuminate the pathway forward and point to where our future growth lies for the next 18 months.
